A golden-ratio spiral with digits around a star

How the match is made

A name digit suits a founder when the founder's Origin and Master numbers both befriend it and it befriends them back, or one side is friend and the other neutral. The table below is computed for a founder whose Origin and Master numbers are the same number; a real founder has two numbers and the calculator reads both.

The table, computed

This part is worked out by the calculators: open the calculator.

Why 5 appears for everyone

5 befriends all nine numbers and is opposed to none, so it is supported by every founder from its side. The reverse direction still matters: 2, 4, 8 and 9 read 5 as a friend, and so the pair holds.

Why 8 appears for almost no one

8 has no neutrals; every number is a friend or an opponent. Only 3, 5, 6 and 7 befriend it, and it befriends them back, so an 8 name suits founders on those four numbers and clashes with the rest.

Using the table

Read your Origin number's row, then run Name Score with the date of birth to see the Master number applied as well. Where the two disagree, the calculator reports Supported rather than Strong.

Frequently asked questions

What if my Origin and Master numbers disagree?

Name Score reads both and reports Supported by one; the report explains which.

Can I ignore the founder and pick 23?

23 is an excellent compound, but a 5 name still clashes with nothing, so it is the safe default when the founder's numbers give no steer.

Is the table classical?

The friendship table comes from the practitioner tradition; the derivation of the pair grid from it is NumeroPandit's.
