In brief

Your name number on the Chaldean (103) or Pythagorean (126) table, with soul urge and personality.

How to use: fill in Full name, System, Reduction mode, then press the button.

How it works

Each letter of the name is given its value on the table you choose: Chaldean (1 to 8, no letter worth 9, the alphabet totals 103) or Pythagorean (A to I as 1 to 9, then again from J; the alphabet totals 126). The values are added into the compound number, which is read on its own, then reduced to a single digit, keeping 11, 22 or 33 only if you choose a master mode. Vowels give the soul urge and consonants the personality. Titles such as Mr, Dr and Shri are left out, and a name typed in Hindi letters is read in Latin letters first.

Questions

Should I use Chaldean or Pythagorean?

Chaldean is the system most Indian numerologists use for names; Pythagorean is the common Western one. The calculator shows both totals, so you can see where they agree.

Which spelling should I enter?

The name as you use it every day: on your signature, your card and how people address you. A spelling you never use does not describe you.

What is the compound number?

The total before the last reduction, such as 37 before 1. Indian numerology reads it as well as the single digit, because two names with the same digit can carry very different compounds.
