Step 1: find the founder's numbers

This part is worked out by the calculators: open the calculator.

Step 2: pick the digit

5 unless the founder's numbers or the sector say otherwise; 6 or 1 next. Avoid 2, 4 and 8 unless the sector lifts them, and take a 5 there instead.

Step 3: pick the compound

The four highest are 23, 33, 41 and 51; the routes to a 1, 5 and 8 are ranked by practitioners; the compounds index lists the rest by weight.

Step 4: score the shortlist

Step 5: respell, do not rename

Name Variants finds the one- or two-letter changes that move the compound; the nearest good compound beats the ideal one.

Step 6: check the sector

The sector table's block list is short and absolute: 3 in luxury, 6 in education, 8 and 9 in food, 7 in construction and legal.

Step 7: activate and hold

Signboard, invoices, handles, in that order, since those are where the name is read. The report dates the changeover and lists the remedy kit for the name number.

Frequently asked questions

Should I count the suffix?

No; the trading name is counted and the registered form shown separately.

How many names should I shortlist?

Five per pass on Name Score.

What if all five are weak?

Take the best root and respell it; a descriptor from the lucky-words table can move the compound.
